This antique Wayang Golek puppet is from West Java, Indonesia. This puppet represents Hanuman, a monkey warrior in the Ramayana epic story. Hanuman helps King Rama find his wife who's been kidnapped by demons. The puppet is well crafted wood by an Indonesian artisan group . The head is movable by controlling the wooden rod underneath the batik sarong. Both hands are also movable.
